Amazon’s device table, updated the same day, lists that generation as Fire TV Stick 4K, 3rd Gen (2026), on Vega OS 2.0 (Fire OS Overview, last updated 30 September 2026, checked 5 October 2026).

Vega OS uses a different install path from the Downloader steps on this page. Amazon’s Vega developer docs install a test app as a Vega package (a .vpkg file) with the Vega CLI, after Developer Mode and an Amazon Developer account (Enable Developer Mode, Vega docs 0.24, checked 5 October 2026). That path has no Downloader step and no APK. Skip the sideload section if your stick is one of the Vega OS rows below.

The Downloader steps are for Fire OS sticks only. On Fire OS, Amazon’s developer docs turn on Apps from Unknown Sources under Settings > Device (or My Fire TV) > Developer Options (Connect to Fire TV Through ADB, checked 5 October 2026). How do you set up IPTV on a Fire OS Firestick?

Use this list only when the table above says Yes for your stick. Do not use it on the 2026 Fire TV Stick 4K, the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD, or the Fire TV Stick 4K Select.

1. From the home screen, select Settings, then My Fire TV (some Fire OS versions say Device), then About.
2. If Developer Options is missing, click the remote D-pad seven times on Settings > My Fire TV > About > Your TV. Amazon’s Fire OS developer page says some software versions reveal Developer Options that way.
3. Open Developer Options and turn on Apps from Unknown Sources.
4. Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore.
