IPTV Parental Controls: PIN and Hidden Groups
Set IPTV parental controls on the player and the television: hide adult groups, add a PIN, then check the lock still holds after a restart.

A household IPTV subscription is a shared remote. The same login that opens news and sport can also open adult categories, late-night film folders, and country packs nobody watches. Parental controls decide what that remote can reach.
Hide the groups, put a PIN on the player, then add the television's own lock. Test with the remote, close the app, and test again, on the set children actually use.
The player PIN and the TV PIN do different jobs
The television's controls belong to the device maker. On Fire TV, Amazon's help page says to open Settings, then Preferences, then Parental Controls, enter a PIN, and choose the options you want. Amazon describes that PIN as a prompt before purchases and before playback of videos in certain age ratings. A Fire TV user guide states that these controls do not restrict content inside third-party applications, and an IPTV player is one of those applications. If the menu offers app-launch protection, Amazon support replies describe it as a PIN before every installed app opens. It does not hide a category once the player is open.
The player's controls belong to the app. TiviMate's site lists parental controls as a feature for managing access. Published walkthroughs for IPTV Smarters describe a PIN under Settings, named Parental Control or Parental Lock. Those controls can hide or lock groups. They apply only on the television where you set them, and only inside that app.
Use both. The player PIN shapes the guide. The device PIN makes the player harder to open. The comparison page separates the main device from how many screens play at once. A second room is a second setup. Plan length and screen count are on the pricing page.
Hide the groups, then stop settings from undoing it
Hiding removes a group from the list. Use it for categories marked adult, and for country packs you will never open. Anyone who can open the group manager can show the group again.
Locking puts a PIN in front of a group, a channel, or the settings that would reveal it. That is the control a shared remote needs.
Read the names. Adult, 18+, and XXX are the obvious labels, including those words in other languages. A plain name can still carry a programme you would switch off. If adult titles sit inside a general movie folder, hiding one live group leaves that folder open. Lock the movie or series category until an adult has looked through it.
A circulated TiviMate 4.7 user guide describes a switch for newly added groups. Left on, a playlist update can place a new group on screen. Turn that switch off on a child's television if you see it, then review the list after channels are added. Favourites shorten the row you open first. Build them after the unwanted groups are already hidden.
Where common players keep the control
TiviMate. The developer lists parental controls on tivimate.com. The 4.7 user guide puts them under Settings, then Parental controls, with a PIN on first open, toggles for settings and group options, and a long-press for Block group or Hide group. If your lines differ, stay in Settings. The official site does not publish every menu, and a paid unlock can show more switches than the free build.
IPTV Smarters. Published notes say to open Settings, look for Parental Control or Parental Lock, create a PIN, and mark live, movie, or series categories. Some builds only lock the app at launch. Turn that on, and still hide the groups. A phone, a Fire TV stick, and a Windows PC each keep their own PIN.
Other screens. IBO Player and Smart IPTV on Samsung and LG often use a device code and a thinner settings screen. If the app has no PIN and no hide control, sign out on a shared television and use a player that has both. See the smart TV app comparison, the Tizen and webOS guide, and smart TV install. Add Apple's Screen Time on a child's iPhone or iPad beside the player PIN (iPhone and iPad guide). On Apple TV, set the PIN in the App Store player (Apple TV setup guide). Fire TV and Android choices are in the Firestick comparison and the Android roundup, with steps for Firestick and Android.
Sign in with the server, username, and password from your activation message, or the playlist link from your account. M3U vs Xtream Codes explains the two logins. Leave forum playlist addresses alone.
Step-by-step setup: PIN and hidden groups
Allow about 20 minutes. Have the activation message nearby. Pick a PIN that is not a birthday and not a row of the same digit.
- Choose the player that will stay on this TV. Install or update it from the store or from the install guide for that device. Remove extra IPTV apps you were only testing, so a second icon is not an open door.
- Sign in with your own login. Enter the server, username, and password from your activation message, or the playlist link from your account. Wait until the channel list finishes loading.
- Hide adult groups and packs you do not watch. Open the group or category manager. Turn off groups whose names mark them as adult, and turn off country packs nobody in the house uses. Do the same for movie and series categories when the app splits them.
- Set the player PIN. Open Settings and find Parental controls, Parental Control, or Parental Lock. Create the PIN and confirm it.
- Require the PIN before settings or groups can change. Turn on the switches that protect settings, playlists, and group options. Block or lock the adult groups you hid when the app offers a lock as well as a hide.
- Turn on the television's own parental controls. On Fire TV, follow Amazon's path: Settings, Preferences, Parental Controls, then your PIN, then the options you want. App-launch protection, where shown, applies to every app.
- Test, restart, and test again. Without the PIN, confirm adult groups are absent or locked and that settings will not open. Close the app, open it again, and repeat. Write the PIN down where adults can find it.
After an update, a refresh, or a new television
An app update or a replacement stick can show every group again. Open the group list and the parental-control screen before you hand the remote back. Enter the login from your activation message. The PIN and the hidden groups stay on the device where you created them.
A second room needs the same pass when two pictures play at once. Screen count on the pricing page is simultaneous playback, set on the comparison page. It is a separate choice from what each screen is allowed to show.
If a refresh brings groups back, hide them and confirm the PIN still guards settings. Tell the other adults the code. The lock covers that television, so walk the other rooms and count the IPTV icons, and keep the subscription password with adults. Legal context is in Is IPTV legal?. How a subscription reaches a player is in the IPTV guide.
